Phillip Thompson has an extensive career in the fields of architecture, property development and management since graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Natal in 1980.
His work experience includes a broad base covering fields of Educational, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, Heritage, Resort and Forensic architecture. Having worked in offices within Southern Africa, North America and the Caribbean. Since 1985 he has gained substantial experience knowledge through projects focused on community participation and development, as well as establishing himself as the foremost specialist in the field of environmental accessibility and universal design within South Africa.
He has been a board member of organisations such as THETA (Tourism and Sport Standard Education and Training Authority), SATGC (South African Tourism Grading Council), SATOUR (South Aftrican Tourism Board), including non-executive positions for Transnet Ltd., Transnet Property Trust, the V&A Waterfront Marina, Equity Aviation, and Trustee od the Thabo Mbeki Development Trust.
